Young Adult Guidelines
Welcome to Freedom Foster. This program gives you a real, immersive taste of life in New Hampshire so you can decide whether moving here for more freedom makes sense.
1. Purpose of Your Stay
- Experience authentic NH daily life with a screened host family
- Engage in live-work-learn-play opportunities
- Evaluate whether NH is right for your future
This is not a vacation, free lodging, or long-term placement. Typical stays are 2–4 weeks.
2. Your Responsibilities
- Be respectful and contribute to household life
- Participate actively in Live, Work, Learn, and Play
- Communicate openly with hosts and program staff
- Complete post-stay reflection and feedback
3. Conduct & Safety
No illegal activity, substance abuse, or behavior that endangers others. Zero tolerance for violations.
Participants ages 13–17 require active parent/guardian consent. Ages 18–19 may apply independently with optional family contact.
4. What Freedom Foster Is Not
- Not state foster care
- Not long-term housing
- Not a paid internship or traditional exchange
